About the role

The System Administrator (Unix Infrastructure) is responsible for maintaining the availability and efficiency of the Agency’s Unix Server.
• Work with a range of technologies including virtualisation, package and configuration management, and source repositories.
• Maintain the Agency’s Java-based web application tier infrastructure and Oracle/PostgresSQL/MariaDB database infrastructure.
• Provide support to application developers.
• Maintain existing and implement new standalone applications.

Our ideal candidate has
• Experience managing and maintaining Linux servers and Linux-based network facilities.
• Ability to provide clear and authoritative oral and written advice.
• Experience working in an environment that doesn’t operate on the cloud.
• Ability to program in languages commonly used in Linux environments.

• Permanent role located in Hobart or Launceston.
