UNIX/Linux Administrator - Luxottica

We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced UNIX/Linux Administrator to provide uninterrupted delivery of UNIX/Linux systems across the business. This hands-on role is responsible for providing the technical design, implementation, administration and support of IT systems. Main responsibilities include:

Build effective relationships with the Technical Support Services manager and Contact Centre Manager to evolve IT strategies.
Establish the IT needs of the stores and Shared Services functions and facilitate IT support where appropriate.
Facilitate customer resolution for escalated calls and engage the necessary technical support.
Support the implementation of change programs effectively whilst contributing to the maintenance of a stable environment.
Work with the Infrastructure Director to improve productivity and recommending changes.
Assist in smooth implementations and execution of changes as well as updating and the ongoing maintenance of documentation.

To be successful in this role you will proven hands on experience operating UNIX/Linux systems and environment, also any exposure to Red Hat, Suse Enterprise would be highly regarded. A solid background in back up systems including TSM and storage environments including SVC, SAN, IBM Tivoli with an understanding of PXE boot and Client Thin technologies. Keen attention to detail is essential along with the ability to build relationships across functions.
