About Dunedin

Dunedin is the second southernmost city in New Zealand. It is located between Christchurch and Invercargill (45°S, 170°E), in Otago in the South Island of New Zealand. Just a few hours drive from Dunedin is Queenstown, the so called adventure capital of the world. The surrounding region of Otago is full of fantastic scenery, with now famous locations used during filming of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. There are a multitude of wildlife attractions, including Albatrosses and Yellow Eyed Penguins. LCA2006 is being held in January, one of the hottest months in Dunedin's year, with comfortable temperatures in the mid to high 20's. (Celsius!) Dunedin has a population of approximately 120,000 people.
