  • LCA2010 program schedule now available!

    LCA2010 Organisers announce schedule of talks for linux.conf.au 2010!

    WELLINGTON, New Zealand – Monday 14 September 2009.

    A full schedule of talks is now available for LCA2010. The conference brings together speakers from around the world presenting a variety of topics; from the strongly technical such as Linux kernel development, to social interaction within communities and issues relating to diverse and minority groups. linux.conf.au 2010 runs for a full week starting Monday 18th January, with more than 65 talk sessions, together with a number of Keynote presentations and 14 Miniconfs.

    "We hope that everyone will enjoy the line-up of talks for linux.conf.au 2010" says Susanne Ruthven, Co-Director of LCA2010. "We had an exceptionally difficult task of choosing such a small number of papers from a list of well over 300 submissions! We believe our selection represents the wide range of speakers and topics from a diverse set of backgrounds who submitted papers - those from education and government, participating in free and open source software in their spare time or as part of their daily jobs.   • linux.conf.au 2010 - Wellington Call for Papers is Now Open!

    linux.conf.au Call For Papers

linux.conf.au ( http://www.lca2010.org.nz ) is pleased to announce the
opening of its Call for Papers for the coming linux.conf.au, LCA2010!

LCA2010 will be held from Monday 18 January 2010 to Saturday 23 January
2010 in Wellington, New Zealand.

linux.conf.au isn't just a Linux conference. It is a technical
conference about Free and Open Source Software, held annually in
Australasia since 2001 - covering everything from the Linux Kernel and

  • 2009 Council Election Results

    Linux Australia's annual main event, linux.conf.au took place in Hobart in January 2009.  Once again it proved to be a focal point for the global Free and Open Source Software community to come together. Users and Developers hacking together, sharing new ideas, building on old ones, with a good share of socialising thrown in for spice.

  • Community Recognition Awards

    During linux.conf.au 2009 certificates were presented to three members of the Australian Free and Open Source Software community in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Linux Australia and linux.conf.au.
