TravelWhere is the Conference? The conference will be held in the Hawken Engineering Building at the St Lucia Campus of The University of Queensland. There are many ways to get to the St Lucia Campus all of which are documented here. Fortunately online maps are available and Hawken Engineering, Building 50, is circled on this one. Our rooms are mostly in the south west quarter on the building. Registration will be opposite the library entrance. When walking around UQ the easiest way to get from one point to another is generally through the Great Court which is the collection of big sandstone buildings in the middle of the campus. Not only is this one of the prettier places on campus, but you will tend to find helpful people to direct you. When trying to get to Hawken from the Great Court walk south under the Physics Annexe (building 6) and then turn right and walk to Coopers Road. Then take a left and Hawken is the building straight ahead at the bottom of the road. One exception to this is if you are staying at Emmanuel College. Then you will find the shortest way is to cross Playing Field No 1 and then cut through the car park to the Coopers Road entrance. Parking at UQ is in great demand so we strongly recommend you consider public transport over driving. If you must drive then your best bet for a park is to try the multi-level car parks buildings 98A and 98B.You can then enjoy a goodly walk to the Great Court and over to Hawken Engineering. Getting to Brisbane The LCA organisers have chosen The Adventure Traveller as the official travel agents of the conference.
